Classes: For the listings here classes are defined as having a teacher who provides instruction to students. May be ongoing or for a short term. Fees may be required.
A cozy
cabin in Hansville will
be the setting for a series of classes to be offered by Joyce Hart. Joan
is a published author, professional copy editor, and former teacher. Joyce
writes both nonfiction and creative writing, and has published over 30 books.
Classes will be open to all levels of writers, including beginners. Classes
will cost $10/session and will be ongoing. Classes are slated to begin November
20th. (But other arrangements may be possible.) For more information contact

Learn Literary Magazine

This class is not in Kitsap, but it's
just a ferry ride away in Edmonds!
Students in the Publications class (Humanities 235) at Edmonds Community College
form the editorial staff of the college's award-winning literary magazine,
Between the Lines. The class includes an overview of editing, design, printing,
and marketing. Class begins on January 6, 2009 and meets 12:30-1:30PM
Tuesday/Thursday, with some online instruction as well. The instructor is a
published poet with experience in editing and publishing small press books and

Field’s End,
an outreach program of the nonprofit Bainbridge Library Board, offers
top-quality writing classes for adults. All classes will be held at the
Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Avenue, Bainbridge Island, Washington 98110. Most classes will fill on a first-come basis. For full details and registration forms visit www.fieldsend.org

Field’s End is a writers’ community, affiliated with the nonprofit Bainbridge
Public Library, whose mission is to inspire writers and nurture the written
word. Field’s End sponsors writing classes, the free monthly Writers’ Roundtable
on the third Tuesday of the month at the Bainbridge Public Library, lectures and
